Everyone has reasons to love ENERGY STAR® upgrades on Minto homes.

The ENERGY STAR Program is available for all Minto detached homes. Talk to us about all the details and what they mean to you and your home. But in the meantime, here, in a nutshell, is what ENERGY STAR upgrades entail:

Windows
Low e-argon windows (including basement)
Insulation values
Exterior walls: R25 (R20 with 1” rigid foam sheathing at exterior walls above grade)
Basement exterior walls: R20 (insulation no more than 12” from floor)
Exposed floors: R32
Ceilings with attic: R40 insulation
Ceilings without attic: R32 insulation
Air leakage control (drop ceilings, bulkheads, over garages, baths, exterior walls, etc.)
Electrical
Minimum of 15 CFL (compact fluorescent light bulbs)
Airtight plastic electrical boxes in heated ceilings
Airtight pot lights
Mechanical
Furnace with 90% AFUE (annual fuel utilization)
Main supply and exhaust ducts sealed with foil tape
Heat Recovery Ventilator
Ventilation distribution interconnect (furnace)
Rental hot water tanks with minimum of 0.60 EF (energy factor)
Heat Recovery Ventilator
Prices (exclude GST)
Up to 2,200 square feet: $6,500
2,201 to 2,800 square feet: $6,800
Over 2,801 square feet: $7,000
Other
ENERGY STAR upgrades include an air leakage test and third-party inspection
ENERGY STAR upgrades must be purchased prior to the structural cut-off date
